Galena Lodge is a trails-based retreat and historic day lodge. Charming day lodge, sundeck and dogdeck gives you the ideal place to relax before or after you try out over 100 kilometers of cross country ski and bike trails, ski or hike in hut system. There's a full service ski shop with rentals and retail. In addition, hearty lunches are served along with fresh baked goods and espresso. Catered events and private parties are easy to arrange. Overnight yurts with dinner delivery is also offered. Full moon, stargazing and holiday dinners are all favorites. Lessons, tours and other events are daily occurences.

Winter Time
Located at the northern end of the Harriman Trail, with 53 km of trails adjacent to the Lodge, Galena is the perfect place for a winter outing. During the winter months Galena is open daily from 9 AM to 5 PM. Cozy up by the fire and enjoy fresh baked goods and espresso drinks which are available in the Lodge on most mornings. Lunch served daily from 11:30 AM to 3:30 PM.

Summer Time
Galena is the perfect place for a summer outing. During the summer months the outdoor shop is open daily from 10 AM to 4 PM. Rent a bike, grab a map and explore the Galena trail system. When you get back you can relax and enjoy a meal outside on our deck. The restaurant is open for lunch on Mondays - Saturday from 11:30- 3:30; for brunch on Sundays from 11:00-2:30 and on Thursday Nights for our Wagon Ride Barbecues.

The Lodge is closed during slack seasons (in the Spring from mid April thru June 1st, and in the Fall from mid September through mid November).

Directions: Directions to the Lodge From Ketchum/ Sun Valley on Highway 75 (approximately 1/2 hour): Galena Lodge is located 24 miles North of Ketchum on Highway 75. There are a few landmarks along the way, and a large sign on the right that indicates that you have arrived at the lodge. If you get to the Galena summit, you have gone five miles too far.
We do not have any current pre-built packages for Galena Lodge Nordic and Snowshoe Center .

Cross Country Skiing

Trails Galena ski trails are part of a larger system known as the North Valley Trails. The trails at Galena & the North Valley are so vast and diverse that Snow Country magazine described them as "arguably the best in the United States." The North Valley Trails are user pay ski trails. Only your pass fees and donations pay for grooming, signage, maintenance, equipment, support staff, passes, maps and all the other needs of winter trails. One pass allows you access to the entire North Valley Trail system- what a deal!

Biking at Galena: Whether you are a first time mountain biker or a seasoned rider, the trails at Galena have something for everyone. Sample all types of mountain bike trails at Galena; from dirt forest roads to ski trails and single track challenges. Twenty five miles of trails wind past old mining sites and cabins, towering trees, fields of flowers, abundant wildlife and spectacular views of the Boulder and Smokey mountains.

The Snowshoe Trails at Galena have a little something for everyone. Our trails on the west side of the highway are all dog friendly. Wear out your four legged friend on one of our more strenuous trails or take your old faithful pal for an easy walk on the "Cowboy Cabin Trail" along the Bigwood. On the east side you can explore scenic vistas and wide open meadows on the "Pioneer Cemetery Loop" or get your blood pumping on "Tilt a Whirl". Full day and 1/2 day snowshoe rentals are available.
