Bald Mountain lies in the heart of some of the best, most exciting skiing and snowboarding terrain in the world. For over thirty years, small groups have explored this winter paradise by helicopter. Bring your enthusiasm, and Sun Valley Heli-Ski guides, with over 100 years of combined experience, will match your desire and ability to the perfect slope and snow. They offer half-day, full-day and weekly packages, one-lift tours and backcountry yurt trips, and discounts for groups and families.
Typical Day: We meet at our office (typically 7:30 or 8 am), have a continental breakfast, tea/coffee and head out in our "Rotorhome" shuttle bus to meet the helicopter. Before heading out into the backcountry, you will be briefed on safety and emergency procedures, including the use of an Orotovox avalanche beacon. The helicopter is stocked with snacks and drinks to keep you shredding through the day. After our epic day of skiing, we have lunch at the staging area and then head back into town, arriving back at the office usually between 3 and 4 pm.
Each helicopter will hold 1 guide and 4 guests. They typically take 3 to 4 groups out per day. Travel insurance is strongly recommended and can be purchased on any InIdaho.com web page.

This is the most flexible way to incorporate heli-skiing into your time in Sun Valley and the best introduction to the sport. (Careful-You'll be hooked!) Add a single day of heli-skiing to your vacation or take advantage of conditions too perfect to pass up.
Sun Valley Heli Ski specializes in customizing your heli-ski experience to meet your desires, your ability, and your wallet. A typical day of heli-skiing includes 10,000 to 14,000 vertical feet. With our price structure you pay a base rate and are guaranteed 6 runs. If your group wants to ride 'til you drop, our guides will be glad to help you maximize vertical at an additional charge per run.
Day trips leave from our downtown Ketchum office at approximately 8 a.m. and return by mid to late afternoon. A full day typically totals around 10,000 to 12,000 vertical feet (6 runs). Enthusiastic riders who hit good conditions may ski more at the additional rate of $90 per run per person.
Contrary to the popular perception and ski-movie portrayal of heli-skiing as an extreme sport, Sun Valley Heli*Ski offers a wide variety of terrain to accommodate nearly any level of skier. If you can ski our local area Bald Mountain, then making the jump to heli skiing in the backcountry will be an easy transition. Attitude is everything. With over 750 square miles within our permit area, we can select the appropriate terrain for your group.

Reservation Terms and Conditions
To reserve a day of skiing, full payment is required. Cancellations prior to 14 days: rain check or refund less $50.00 fee, Cancellations within 14 days: rain check or refund less $100 fee. Cancellations within 24 hours: no refund.
Any requests for changes are assessed a $100 administration fee. If weather or snow conditions dictate cancellation, the reservation is moved to the next open day or a rain check is offered. Rain checks are good for two years and transferable. If you want a refund a $100 administration fee is assessed. No refunds for no shows, poor ability, fitness, equipment failure or personal choice.

"I had booked a day of heli-skiing for my husband's 35 birthday, it was a surprise for him. The staff at SV heli-ski helped me organize everything, was more than nice and helpfull, and I called quite a few times... One of the person I talked to even offered for my husband to borrow his snowboard if we couldn't rent something good enough in Sun Valley or Ketchum.
My husband was then very impressed by their profesionalism. There is a ratio of 4 guest for 1 guide in the helicoptere, so you get a lot of attention. Plus he said they were very strict on security so he felt safe all the time. He had the best time and cannot imagine there is another way of skiing than heli-skiing now !
It's an expensive treat, but it's worth all the money."

Cancellations made more than 6 months prior to ski date receive full refund less $350 fee per seat. Cancellations made less than 90 days prior to ski date all monies on account are non-refundable.
