CLOSES 11/5/18 Nestled among the rolling hills of the Palouse this course is challenging, with a wide variety of shots needed. The course is one of Idaho's oldest, with the original 9 holes being built in 1933. The round concludes by running the gauntlet of the last three challenging holes known by locals as "heartbreak ridge."

The front nine of U of I golf course is a par 37 with three par fives. It plays at 3117 total yards from the middle tees, 3344 yards from the back tees, and 2904 yards from the front tees. The back nine is a par 35 with only one par five, but it's equally challenging because of two long par three holes. The middle tees' total yardage is 3037, the back tees' make a sum of 3293, and the front tees' play at 2866 total yards. Only three greens are two-tiered, all of which are on the front nine. However, U of I golf course has other greens that can save your score or make it add up quickly. You will find that some greens play faster than others; most have plenty of room for error. Playing surfaces will also vary a great deal throughout the day, depending on the local weather.
