Location Category Description:
The headwaters of the Big Wood River are found just west of Galena Peak. From there the river flows to the southeast and then south into the Sun Valley area. The Big Wood River flows through the River Run area of Ketchum and then south of town through Hailey and on to the Magic Reservoir. The river not only offers a scenic view but is a very popular place to fish for various trout including rainbow, brown and a few brook trout. The lodging properties and vacation rentals in this location are all situated on the banks of the Big Wood River and offer rooms, suites or units with views of the river.
