This quaint small town with its classic western storefronts was once the largest in the Pacific Northwest. Idaho City was a rip-roaring gold mining area, rivaling anything the California '49ers could have created. Many of the original buildings are still in use. The Boise Basin Mercantile, Idaho’s oldest store, as well as saloons and restaurants can all be found on Main Street. Visitors and townsfolk alike can even enjoy a Friday night hoe-down or the suspense of a main street shoot-out.
