For those who desire rustic elegance, privacy, space and mountain views this is among the best that Sun Valley offers. The owners have chosen Yosemite's renowned Awahnee Lodge as the model for their interior treatment of this grand home. Rustic log and river rock combine with quality architecture and native art in a craftman's home that feels special from the moment you arrive. The many graceful details include stone flooring imported from Jerusalem, Bubinga wood cabinets, beveled glass windows, polished granite counters and cozy fireplaces in the dining room and master bedroom.
The kitchen is simply grand, with rich wood cabinets, granite counters, tile mosaics, and undercounter sub-zero refrigerator cabinets. It also features Dacor double convection ovens, a plate warmer, a six-burner gas range/barbecue grill, a butcher block island with sink disposal, and a large pantry. There is a microwave and a dishwasher.
The comfortable leather sofa and chair face the stunning oversized rock fireplace and huge view windows. At the right is a game table next to glass doors which open to a flagstone courtyard. Upstairs is a large landing which functions as a den/TV viewing room and has a queen sofa sleeper.
Other amenities include a 4-car garage with a ski storage area, a laundry room with a linen press, large secluded garden setting in summer, additional sleeping in den and a full working office in the master suite.
