Bunk Room sleeps: 7, beds: 4, bedrooms: 2
. Description | Pricing | Photos | Amenities
Our initial venture into building with logs was to put up a garage. Since then it has had a complete remodel and was named the Bunkhouse. The kitchen features a stove, refrigerator (with ice maker), dishwasher, oak cabinets thanks to Als carpentry skills, sink and laundry. A futon in the living room provides extra bed space for the larger family or group. This house has many stairs and is not wheel chair accessible. The Bunkhouse sleeps seven with ease. Two bedrooms are upstairs, one with a queen bed and the other with a queen plus a swinging twin. Even adults have been known to argue over who gets to sleep in the swinging bed! The futon in the living room adds space for two more people to sleep. The bathroom sports an old fashioned claw foot tub with hand held shower. In winter, hot water is circulated under to tile floor to keep your feet toasty warm! A wood stove in the living room adds to the country flavor. During the summer season, we rent the Bunkhouse as a stand alone cabin. The beds are made up when you come and we provide towels, pots and pans, dishes, etc. You bring your own food and are on your own for all meals, including breakfast. The Bunkhouse has lots of stairs and is not suitable for folks who have difficulty walking or climbing.

Forest Suite sleeps: 4, beds: 3, bedrooms: 1
. Description | Pricing | Photos | Amenities
The Forest Suite now headlines as our log bedroom. It is a favorite for parents who wish to have their children sleep in the same room with them. Folks claim the Forest Suites king bed is the comfiest in the whole place. Al created the king, daybed and trundle frames from lodge pole pine logs with blued pine boards. A small electric fire view stove contributes to the ambiance with heat in winter, or without it in summer! Our guests enjoy the pretty flames regardless of the weather. A private bath located just across the hall has a shower/tub combination, toilet, and sink. The view from the Forest Suite looks into what we affectionately call the ball field. In our dreams it was slated to host baseball games. This clear spot in the woods actually provides grazing for horses at times, and deer (often a doe and fawn) regularly!

Grannys & Spring sleeps: 5, beds: 3, bedrooms: 2
. Description | Pricing | Photos | Amenities
Grannys and Spring are located in one wing of the main house. The whole wing is lockable for privacy. Grannys Woods, with its queen bed, looks out toward the west on a well-thinned woods where we sometimes graze horses. The room features furniture from Daryls grandparents, Henry and Teresa. They were antique buffs and loved beautiful, useful pieces. We believe that this furniture dates to the 1880′s. In addition to the impressive headboard, Grandpa Henrys dresser and bedside table are in this room. Log walls and cedar ceiling surround you as you sleep. The quilt in Grannys Woods was made by Als sister, Sylvia. The pattern, Log Cabin at a Snails Pace, depicts our slow construction of this big cabin. The bathroom for Grannys and Spring has a large walk in shower with two shower heads and a jetted big tubby. Guests enjoy a luxurious soak with their stay. Or they send all the kids into the shower at once for a quick clean up. Spring room looks out on the garden area and has views of Cedar Mountain. Grandma Teresas dresser sits in one corner, opposite the full/twin bunk bed. When a couple chooses to stay in Grannys, we do not rent Spring to anyone else outside of their own family members.

Red Barn & Cedar sleeps: 7, beds: 4, bedrooms: 2
. Description | Pricing | Photos | Amenities
The last unused boards from the original Old Red Barn now grace the Red Barn Room. The floor likewise reflects our thrifty nature, most of the tiles were leftovers from the rest of the house. Cedar, the companion room to Red Barn, boasts newer paneling. About a third of the way up Cedar Mountain lies a favorite family spot we call the picnic grounds. (I remember during my childhood Daddy would trek up the hill with homemade root beer. He placed it in Lightning Creek to cool for our family gatherings.) Right around the year 2000, hubby Al harvested a large Cedar tree from this picnic area, a leaner that needed thinning out. He cut boards using a portable sawmill, ran them through the planer and used them to finish this room. The Cedar room has a queen bed and the Red Barn room has a full/twin bunk plus a full futon. There is a private bath with shower. This room is located in the basement, so guests need to be able to use stairs. Some noise from footsteps in the main level.
