Additional deluxe accommodations at Wapiti Meadow Ranch, the Mill Pond Lodge is a short walk away from the main ranch house (where meals are served) through the meadow. With its rich log and stone construction, the Lodge and its three suites offer luxurious civilization in a wilderness setting in virgin timber among stone garden walls, lush new plantings, and views of Johnson Creek and the surrounding valleys and mountains.

The Lodge has three deluxe suites that offer privacy, seclusion, luxury and easy access to Wapiti Meadow Ranch and its Orvis guided fly fishing, trail riding, hiking, and other guest ranch services and amenities. Each suite is uniquely decorated with fine furnishings and appointments and sleeps 2 to 4 guests.

Directions: From Cascade: turn east on Warm Lake Road, and north on Johnson Creek Road. (If you run out of pavement on Warm Lake Road, you have gone 200 yards too far.) Ranch is 16.5 miles north of junction on Johnson Creek Road leading to Yellow Pine (1.25 to 1.5 hours). From Stanley: north on Hwy 75, north on Highway 21 on the Landmark-Stanley Road. Follow to Warm Lake Road, bear left, go onto pavement. Almost immediately turn right onto Johnson Creek Road. (Time 2.25 to 2.75 hours)

A two room suite with king sized, hand hewn log bed in a glass fronted room features a soaring ceiling, full sized wall mural, hand carved eagle perched on a pine bough, and a river rock gas fireplace. A sitting room has a comfortable leather club chair, book shelves and a woodsy décor. The airy bath has a step-up jacuzzi tub with a stone waterfall, double basins set in a log counter, and large walk-in shower surrounded by river rock and crowned with a hand-carved elk resting on a boulder "cliff." There is both veranda access and a screened back porch.

This suite has a large, well fenced yard for up to two dogs. There is a $20 fee per pet and they are not allowed indoors.

The first floor offers a soaring living room ceiling with river rock fireplace. There is a screened back porch and veranda access, the latter through the glass window wall looking down the Johnson Creek Valley. Upstairs there is a large lounge area with two built-in twin beds/sofas and a balcony overlooking the Mill Pond. The loft leads to a separate bedroom with queen sized bed and an airy dormer bath.
