Main Salmon River Description:

Originating in the Sawtooth and Lemhi Valleys the Salmon River flows 425 miles before emptying into the Snake River. Known as “The River of No Return”, the Salmon River is the longest free flowing river within one state in the continental United States. It is considered a choice pool-and-drop river for adventurerers of all ages, with serious Class III-IV rapids such as Salmon Falls, Split Rock and Whiplash.
