Chevrolet U.S. Snowboard Grand Prix, Tamarack Resort
Tuesday, February 20, 2007, Donnelly
February 24-25, 2007

TAMARACK, Idaho – Tamarack Resort is gearing up to host the greatest snowboard competition series, the 2006-07 Chevrolet U.S. Snowboard Grand Prix. On February 24-25, 2007, U.S. Olympic medalists and world-class snowboarders will go head-to-head at Tamarack on a mammoth 22-foot half pipe and on a specially-constructed snowboard cross course.

The Grand Prix series kicked off at Breckenridge Resort, CO December 14-16 with Olympic Gold Medalist Kelly Clark snagging the women’s halfpipe win, and Danny Davis tops in the men’s competition. The Series heads to Mt. Bachelor February 2-4, before concluding at Tamarack February 24-25.

Field sizes for the halfpipe contest are approximately 90 men and 40 women. Only Tamarack is hosting a snowboardcross, expected to field about 100 men and 30 women.

The event is free to spectators and the halfpipe and snowboardcross finish are both located on the snowfront, within walking distance of Tamarack’s Discovery Square and the Sponsorship Village. Those buying Tamarack lift tickets will be able to view the snowboardcross course from higher up on the mountain.

Millions of eyes will be on Tamarack and Idaho when the event is broadcast on Versus Network on March 4 at 1pm and 2pm (MST), and on NBC on March 10 at noon (MST).

Call InIdaho.com to make your lodging reservations for the event with discounted ski tickets.
