Sun Valley will host 48STRAIGHT, the largest winter time music and sports celebration in the U.S. on March 14-16, 2008.
48STRAIGHT, a consolodatation of the Jeep King of the Mountain Series and the Ketchum based Ski Tour, is a jam-packed weekend of on-snow and off-snow activities designed to celebrate the mountain culture. The event will include ski and snowboard cross racing and half pipe competitions, over a dozen live concerts, street parties, fashion shows, film festivals and environmental expos.
The event begins Friday March 14th with thrilling snow sport events, snowboard cross and ski cross racing during the Jeep King of the Mountain competition. With a share of $250,000 and keys to a new Jeep on the line, the competition will be shoulder-to-shoulder, high speed dramatics. The events will featuring top athletes in each discipline, such as Shaun Palmer, Nate Holland, Daron Rahlves, Seth Wescott, Lindsey Jacobellis and Casey Puckett, among many other Olympians, World Champions, National Champions and World Cup titlists. The athletes will continue to battle it out on Saturday March 15th, and on Sunday March 16th the ski halfpipe competitors will take center stage.
The heart and soul of the weekend is the 48STRAIGHT Music Festival.
